About This Place

Located in the heart of Baton Rouge, Jones Creek Cafe & Oyster Bar offers an inviting blend of Southern charm and coastal flavors that seafood lovers will relish. This multifaceted restaurant shines as an oyster bar, bar & grill, cafe, and seafood restaurant, celebrating Louisiana’s rich culinary heritage with both classic and innovative dishes.

Jones Creek Cafe’s menu showcases a delightful variety of fresh, expertly prepared seafood and Southern comfort food. Their raw oysters are a signature highlight, served fresh and often paired with local craft beers or a chilled Patron Silver for a truly refreshing experience. For those seeking something more indulgent, the chargrilled oysters—available plain or “Fired Up” with savory seasoning—deliver a smoky, buttery richness that lingers deliciously on the palate.

Beyond oysters, the menu boasts an impressive assortment of dishes crafted to satisfy all cravings. The Roast Beef Poboy, packed with tender slices of roast beef, and the Crab Cakes drizzled with luscious lemon butter sauce, stand out as hearty, flavorful options. Shrimp lovers will appreciate offerings like the Shrimp Wrap and Jack Daniels Shrimp & Grits, where succulent shrimp are paired with creamy, spiced grits, creating an irresistible comfort food fusion. The Fried Crawfish and Catfish Platters, along with Fish Almondine, bring authentic Southern coastal tastes, while lighter options like the Blackened Catfish Sensation Salad and Blackened Shrimp Salad provide fresh, zesty alternatives.

The restaurant also excels in brunch specialties, featuring mouthwatering dishes such as the 3 Egg Omelet and Chicken & Waffle, complemented perfectly by Endless Champagne, bespoke Champagne Mixers, or their renowned House Special Bloody Marys. These thoughtfully curated options ensure a vibrant, festive start to your day whenever you visit.

Atmosphere-wise, Jones Creek Cafe offers three distinct seating experiences. The main dining room is welcoming and comfortable, perfect for family meals or casual dining. The lively bar area buzzes with energy, making it an ideal spot to unwind with friends over drinks. For those seeking a quieter meal, the outdoor seating delivers a more private, serene ambiance enhanced by gentle Louisiana breezes.

Guests consistently praise the attentive and friendly service, which truly elevates the dining experience. Mother’s Day diners like Angie Terrell appreciated how smoothly the staff managed the bustling crowd without compromising on the warmth and attentiveness of care. Louis and Elaine noted the thoughtful differentiation in atmosphere between seating areas, enhancing every visit’s vibe. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply indulging in a casual meal, the staff’s genuine hospitality shines through.

While some diners, such as “Treasure,” found the seasoning on certain dishes mild compared to their personal tastes, many revel in the freshness and quality of the ingredients—a sentiment echoed by Maria G, who highlighted the unbeatable value and taste of their Thursday oyster specials. Katie Manzella’s praise for the chargrilled oysters and crab cakes further reinforces Jones Creek Cafe’s reputation for delivering delicious, satisfying seafood plates.

Jones Creek Cafe & Oyster Bar offers more than just a meal; it’s a genuine taste of Baton Rouge’s culinary soul, rich with the flavors of the Gulf Coast and the warmth of Southern hospitality. We found there are three main sitting areas at The Jones Creek Cafe and the atmosphere differs by the area. The main dining room is nice, the bar area is a lot more lively and outdoors is more private. Our food was good and our sever was very friendly and attentive. A nice local restaurant.

Me and my family went on Mother’s Day for brunch, the food and the atmosphere was phenomenal even though they where really short handed nothing came out cold, the server made sure we had everything,I wish I could have remembered her name. I will most definitely be back again.

Been seeing this restaurant for a while when going to Raising Canes. Finally got a chance to check it out. Food fresh tasting. Just wasn't seasoned or memorable like I like it. The taste reminds me of Beausoleil. Nice atmosphere. Although there wasn't a greeter (I chose a spot to sit and waited) when the waitress noticed me (less than 5 minutes) she asked if I'd been helped and took my order right away. Great service.

Fantastic Oyster Bar Experience at Jones Creek Cafe in Baton Rouge! We stopped by Jones Creek Cafe in Baton Rouge on a road trip and had an amazing experience! We visited on a Thursday for their special oyster deal—25% off a dozen oysters, bringing the price down to just $16.50 minus 25%! The oysters were incredibly fresh, a perfect balance of price and quality. They also have Happy Hour from 3-8 PM, Monday through Friday, with great discounts on drinks! For food, we tried their soups—my husband ordered the Gumbo, a dish deeply rooted in Creole and Cajun traditions. The Creole people, descendants of French, Spanish, African, and Native American cultures in Louisiana, perfected this dish by blending European techniques with local ingredients. The Gumbo was rich, flavorful, and packed with authentic Cajun spices, seafood, and sausage—exactly what you’d expect from a true Louisiana classic! I had the French Onion Soup, which was delicious, though the presentation was quite unique! A big shoutout to our server, Ashley—she was incredibly attentive, friendly, and made our visit even better. The atmosphere was welcoming, the food was fantastic, and the prices were great. If you’re in Baton Rouge, definitely stop by Jones Creek Cafe! Highly recommend!

Food and service was great! I ordered chargrilled oysters, shrimp and corn bisque, and the crab cakes with lemon butter sauce. All so delicious!
